Sir Alec Guinness was a helluvan actor back in the day. I suppose that’s why he was chosen for the sage, calm, wizard figure of Obi-Wan Kenobi in 1977. Dude sported a good beard, and wore the kimono well.

But a swordsman, he was not.

The climactic duel between Kenobi and Darth Vader looks like it was in slo-mo compared to today’s standards of fight sequences. Like, I have no training and I bet I could’ve chopped that old guy in half.

VADER: Your powers are weak old man.

EVERYONE IN AUDIENCE, EVEN KIDS: Um, no shit.

Anyhow, here is the scene reimagined and released on the web today by a post effects house called, aptly, ‘FixItInPost’.

This could be a senior’s vitamins commercial.

“Scene 38 ReImagined” is about the final confrontation between Ben Kenobi & Darth Vader in “A New Hope” nearly 20 years after the events of “Revenge Of The Sith.” This is a one-off story driven scene reflecting the characters in its chronological order from the point of Revenge of the Sith through Rebels, Rogue One, and all canon material leading to A New Hope.  #SC38Reimagined VFX Supervisor – Christopher Clements
